I love driving doordash because it keeps me in reality. Stepping away from the music industry was of the greatest things I could have done with my life. Stepping away from dating, alcohol, the smoke, and working long hours. It was tough to give up all these for a year and then go into a depression. But now I go to recovery communities to help with my anxieties and addictions. God is good. At the end of the day I am 29 years old. :) I will be ok. Don't give up and reach out for help. We have so many support lines.

Government requires DoorDash/UberEats account.Doesn't that sound insane? Most people would respond..."ummm...why would I need to pay a food delivery company when I can just drive to the store and buy my food directly from the store?"Good question.Did you know you can do the EXACT same with healthcare? There are PCPs, surgeons, psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, trainers, and coaches who can help you feel better faster and you can go DIRECTLY to them. Happy Mental Health Awareness month!#DPC #directpay #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

DoorDash Respectfully, may I ask: Why does it seem as if unscheduled Dashers, who are allowed to "Dash Now" if they're new/take offers that cost a Dasher money while #DoorDash earns all delivery fees, get to enjoy top priority for receiving orders? Those of us who must schedule because we're not new, and won't take orders that cost us money while you profit, schedule blocks of time and end up sitting around, doing nothing. How is it that you seem to avoid giving us orders to give to the unscheduled, who can "Dash Now" "even when it's slow" which is the opposite of what Grubhub does, where I get last priority as an unscheduled driver? My 2022 earnings were much higher before the over-hiring that by 2023, started this regretful trend. My current acceptance rate hovers around 60 percent, so it's not as if I'm overly particular in deciding which orders to accept. I work for DoorDash every now and then. They had a promotion for $3 extra in a few cities around me like Fayette, Missouri. They sending people to sun down towns with no internet, wifi, no restaurants or any real clients. I called them to tell them to take that down and to pay me for helping to make your whole Got Damn brand aware of #SunDownTowns 🤣🫶🏾🖤👊🏾Don’t send any BIPOC communities into harms way and danger!!!! I called customer service like 10 times to get it through their thick f*cking skulls! Maybe I will get your attention now!!!Dear Christialyn and the DoorDash Support Team,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you not just as a Dasher, but as a member of a community that values safety, inclusivity, and cultural awareness. Your recent promotion, offering an additional $3 per delivery in towns such as Fayette, Missouri, has raised some serious concerns.Firstly, the promotion seems to lack consideration for the geographic and cultural context of the areas it targets. These locations, known as sundown towns, have a history that cannot and should not be overlooked. Sending Dashers, particularly those from BIPOC communities, into these areas without acknowledging this context is not only insensitive but potentially hazardous. Moreover, the logistics of the promotion have proven to be deeply flawed. Upon my visit to Fayette for a delivery, I encountered several issues:There was no network coverage, leaving me disconnected and unable to access the tools needed to perform my duties. The town lacked the infrastructure to support Dashers—limited restaurant options and non-operational ones during peak hours.Compensation for my time and effort was non-existent due to the absence of orders, despite the time and resources spent traveling. In an emergency, the customer service provided was not just unhelpful but dismissive, which is unacceptable. An inability to escalate concerns to a supervisor further exacerbated the situation.I suggest the following steps to resolve this situation and prevent future incidents:Immediate suspension of the promotion in question while a thorough review is conducted.Financial compensation for the Dashers who have invested their time and resources without return due to the promotion.Establishment of a more rigorous vetting process for promotions to consider cultural and logistical implications.Training for customer service representatives to handle similar situations with the seriousness and empathy they deserve.Open a dialogue with the Dasher community, especially those from marginalized groups, to understand their experiences and improve safety protocols. These issues touch on the very fabric of societal trust and safety—a mission I believe DoorDash values and upholds. I look forward to your response and a prompt resolution to this matter.Thank you for your time and attention.Warm regards,Stan Byndom#FrankEmbreehttps://lnkd.in/gHbirX5j

Yesterday, I stumbled upon an old hard drive of mine. A really old one. One fun find was a business plan I created in April of 2012. Any guesses? It was for a company called "EatIn Out" where "food is delivered from established restaurants to individuals" because "delivery options are limited" and "there is no other service that offers food from multiple restaurants". I'd say 22 year old me fell a bit short of Uber, Favor Delivery, DoorDash, and Grubhub though. The plan also states that "telephone operators" and "delivery drivers" would be hired. No #sharingeconomy, no app, just an old school currier service.I remember at the time people around me said nobody would pay for food they can pickup to be delivered. I take two lessons from this nostalgic find:1. Haters gunna hate. Sometimes your idea is a great idea.2. Even with a great idea its very probable it wouldn't have worked anyways, or at least for you at the time.Thank you universe for teaching me so much in the past decade. I wonder what I'll learn in the next one.

DoorDash, here's an example of the insanity going on out here. This person ordered two dinners to be delivered 11.5 miles away (that's 20+ round trip, not on the way to any other hotspot) and they gave, I sh*t you not, a $1 tip. I took the order because I was genuinely curious to see what kind of monster would give such a low tip. Stop: calling driver pay a "tip" and allowing these wretched humans to take advantage of the system you provide. Start: calling it what it is. A service fee. Scrap tipping and do a per mile fee. You've run your experiment long enough. You know people will still pay for the service. People are so lazy that someone invented foaming hand soap, FFS. Humans can't even be bothered to rub their hands together to lather up, they need a dispenser to do it for them. The odds of them going back to the old days of picking up their own food are 1000 to 1. You're not going to lose business. If anything, the fees you bring in from charging businesses will increase. Users will purchase more to make the delivery fee "worth it." End rant. Crazy stuff going on out there and with all these complaints about "tipping culture" getting out hand, I think a little insight from someone on the road is needed. #doordash #TippingCulture #DeliveryService #DeliveryApp

If your heart races when DoorDash comes to your door.Read this to delete the anxiety.First off, I understand why you feel the way you do.This is your personality. You deal with tons of anxiety and rather lay on the floor and act like you’re not home then go and chit-chat with a random person you’ll never see again in your life. Here’s how I recommend you tackle this when anxiety hits:Step 1. Take a deep breathBut don’t just breathe, actually imagine the air entering and exiting your body. This will help distract you and prevent you from not overanalyzing.Step 2. Assess the worst-case scenarioWhen you discover that the worst case scenario is that you’ll exchange a few words, that’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.Step 3. Remember, they may not want to talk to you. Many drivers have social anxiety and actually DON’T want to chit-chat with you in the first place. It’s their job, and they are likely in a hurry.Thinking you are going to be in a long conversation is unlikely.~~~Look, I understand this is part of who you are, but when you ground yourself (breathe), suss out the worst case scenario (assess the situation), and realize they have sh*t to do (they may not want to talk to you), you can find peace. This anxiety is causing unnecessary stress and impacting your HEALTH.Don’t let it. #relationships #confidence #engineer #tech #sociallyawkward #softwareengineer #developer #techie #communication #dating #doordash #anxiety

My wife and I both work full time,So welcoming our grown children and their families into our home for Yom Tov certainly takes a lot of planning and organization! Here’s what works for us:✔️Late nights, early mornings – that's when we get most of the prep done!✔️Sneaking out during the work day to run errands. (Although if you know anything about the traffic in Lakewood, NJ you can’t exactly just ‘RUN an errand.’) ✔️Amazon and Instacart become our best friends 😅. But really, what do we work for if not to spend quality time with family and friends ☺️?#multifamily #appliancesets #propertymanagement #realestatedevelopment #realestateinvestment

Are DoorDashers or random strangers stealing from McDonald's?Out doing DoorDash today and something really bizarre happened. I got an order at the McDonald's I was sitting at, so I walked in maybe 30 seconds after the order came through. I watched and waited for a few minutes and there was no sign of the order. Well, it was listed up on the board, but it was not physically present. I asked the folks behind the counter what was going on, but didn't want to be too pushy since I could tell they were slammed. After a few minutes of confusion, they explained that the bag must have been taken. It was "bagged" and went missing, so... Tough luck I guess? I had to tell the app the order was picked up by someone else, which meant the customer had to re-order. Bummer, right?I waited for a different order and this time watched the screen. It showed the order number in the "In Progress" column and then removed the order entirely. Weird, right? So I ask what's up with that one, and the guy behind the counter THEN made the order as I stood there and watched. In the meantime, I saw people come in and snag bags. No one is checking who's taking what, so someone could get a LOT of free food by simply walking in, pretending to check their phone, and walking right out the door. This is crazy unsustainable right? McDonald's already shells out over 10% in commission to DoorDash (could be over 15% when "late fees" are included) and they have to worry about a lot of loss as well. Just wild. The things I have learned in my short stint making deliveries have been incredibly eye-opening. I have some ideas on how to make it work. #delivery #doordash #mcdonalds #WTF

In the network of life, appreciation is the connection that can lead to unexpected opportunities. I've found that expressing gratitude for each successful Grubhub delivery lays down another brick on the pathway to my professional aspirations. A simple client 'thank you' holds more weight than you'd think—it's an acknowledgment of service, an affirmation of effort, and a motivation booster. Let's remember to embrace and express gratitude in our daily interactions; it just might propel us closer to our goals. 🤝 #GratitudeInBusiness #ProfessionalGrowth #NetworkingNuggets
